The CZA devotes itself to serving the Chinese Canadian community with a well-rounded network of services, in order to assist its member to fully merge into the mainstream Canadian society, protect their entitled rights and interests, and take an active part in further promoting social, cultural and economic development of Canada.

The Canada Zhong Guo Ren Association  (CZA), is a non-profit association

 approved by the Canadian Federal Government. The CZA devotes itself to serving the Chinese Canadian community with a well-rounded network of services, in order to assist its member to fully merge into the mainstream Canadian society, protect their entitled rights and interests, and take an active part in further promoting social, cultural and economic development of Canada.

The CZA’s objectives are to unite the Canadian Chinese community; to play a full role in the mainstream Canadian society; to create business opportunities; to improve quality of life, and enhance Sino-Canadian exchanges for a prosperous multicultural society.

 

The governing body of the CZA is the Presidium, under which, a number of functional councils are set up to work in their specialized areas. These are:

 

         Cultural Affairs Council

         Science & Technology Council

         Immigration & Overseas Study Council

         International Trade & Business Council

         Culture & Education Council    

         Social Affairs Council

         Conference, Exhibition & Tourism Council

         Membership & Public Relations Council

         Constructional Engineering Council    

         E-Commerce Council

 

The CZA has the following offices to serve its day-to-day operations: General office, Membership office, Cultural Affairs office, Employment services office, and Project Management office.

 

In the spirit of unity, co-operation and efficiency, the CZA will soon launch a series of social, cultural, and business activities to provide services and create business opportunities for its individual and corporate members, as well as to enhance the Chinese Canadian community and enrich the Canadian multicultural society.

 

Membership conditions:

 

Who: Anyone who is a Canadian citizen, landed immigrant or plans to come to Canada as an immigrant and/or a student are qualified to apply for the membership. Non-Chinese can also join the CZA Cultural Affairs Council upon the approval of the Chairman.

 

How: The membership is granted upon a completion of the application form, payment of the membership fee, and a review by the Membership office.

 

Types of Memberships: Three membership statuses are set up in order to better serve the CZA community: the individual membership, the corporate membership, and the council membership.

 

Member responsibilities:

 

1.       Members shall attend and assist with the CZA’s events and activities, offer help to other members, enhance the recognition of the CZA among other communities, and introduce others to join the CZA.

2.       Members who do not participate in any activities of the CZA are obliged to give up their membership voluntarily, two years after the full amount of membership fee is paid.

3.       Members shall abide by all Canadian laws, regulations and the CZA’s bylaws.

 

Member benefits:

1.       Members are given priority in participating in all of the CZA’s events and activities.

2.       Members enjoy a variety of information and consulting services provided by the CZA.

3.       The CZA assists its members in protecting their legal rights and interests.

4.       Members are not only given priority in participating in well designed delegations and study groups visiting international markets, but also enjoy various opportunities to attend a variety of seminars and conferences with visiting Chinese business groups, sponsored by the CZA in order to develop international trade and business cooperation.

5.       Members are also entitled to attend all kinds of seminars, workshops and topical conferences, which provide updates on latest developments in international and local markets.

6.       The CZA sponsors a series of social and cultural events all year round, in order to enhance communication and friendship among members, as well as promote exchanges with different Canadian ethnic communities.

7.       Members can purchase auto and medical insurance, investment services as well as education funds at discounted group rates sponsored by the CZA Councils.

8.       The CZA shall provide one free job referral service to each member upon request, a service fee will be charged after the first referral.

9.       Members enjoy a 10% to 50% discount rate of all of the CZA’s public services.

10.    Council members, in addition to enjoying the above listed benefits (articles 1-9), may represent the CZA in order to organize events and activities and are given priority in undertaking unpaid services, projects, business cooperation and joint ventures. Council members are also entitled for the VIP access to all of the CZA’s events and activities.

11.    A legal representative of a corporate member is also a member of the CZA Council. In addition to the above listed benefits (articles 1-10), corporate members are entitled to priority services provided by the CZA and free advertisement on major CZA’s business events. The CZA can also, upon request of its corporate members, organize press conferences, and/or briefings for companies to introduce their products and services.
